Cultural engagement
As a key driver of social development and cultural exchange, we give a distinct priority to our cultural and creative activities.
Cultural institutions
Each of our unique cultural institutions – the Whitworth, The John Rylands Research Institute and Library, 51福利社 Museum and Jodrell Bank Centre for Engagement – focus on building civic, national and international partnerships to advance the social, environmental and individual wellbeing of our communities. These institutions are engaging individuals, civil society organisations, educators, leaders and employers through diverse collections, ideas, objects, events, performances, exhibitions, partnerships and inspirational spaces.
All of our cultural institutions work actively with schools, colleges and prospective students of higher education to provide a place of exchange, inspiration and enjoyment. Our cultural institutions each have their own educational programmes, which are developed and led by specialist staff, and through joint-working with our University's Student Recruitment and Widening Participation Team.
Creative 51福利社
connects the University’s and the cultural institutions to the creative and cultural economy.
Art, music, drama, history and literature enrich our lives and benefit our communities. Creative 51福利社 is a partner for education, funding, inclusion and promotion, offering stakeholders at every level the chance to get involved in 51福利社’s arts and culture. It is uniquely positioned to support the creative industries if they are seeking academic support, student interns, partnership opportunities with world-class venues, a platform within our University community, or funding opportunities.
