Results and Confirmation

How Confirmation works

Most of our offers are conditional on exam results. Once you receive your results, UCAS will usually show whether you’ve met the conditions of your offer and your place has been confirmed.

Confirmation is when universities make final decisions on conditional offers for your firm (first choice) or insurance (second choice) options.

You can track the progress of your application through your UCAS Hub. If your place is confirmed at 51�� – congratulations! We look forward to welcoming you to our community.

When your place is confirmed, you’ll receive confirmation through UCAS and an email from us. In early September, you'll receive a further email about how to register.

If your results aren't what you expected

If your results are different from what you were expecting, or you have questions about your offer, visit our what to do when you get your exam results page for guidance and support.

Many of our courses are highly competitive. If UCAS shows that your application has been unsuccessful, unfortunately we won’t be able to offer you a place on that course.

Appealing your grades

If you’re thinking about appealing your grades, you should speak to your school or college first. Appeals are only upheld where an error is identified or academic judgement is shown to be unreasonable.

If you’re offered a Change of Course offer

Occasionally, we may be able to offer you a place on a different but related course (known as a Change of Course offer). If you’ve received one, visit our what to do when you get your exam results page for guidance and support.

If your application is still showing as Conditional Firm (CF) in UCAS, contact the Admissions Team in your chosen School or Department.

Considering other options?

If your results are higher than expected, you haven’t met the conditions of your firm or insurance choices, or you have changed your mind about what or where to study, you may wish to explore your options through Clearing.
